Wafa is the Vice Dean of the College of Business Administration (CBA) at Prince Sultan University, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Her career started as an accountant at the Saudi Ministry of Labour and Social Services before moving to academia as a trainer in technical and fundamental analyse before the Tadawul market crash in 2006. She held the position of Director of the CBA for 3 years before pursuing her PhD at the university of Essex in the UK, where she specialised in corporate disclosures related to gender equality. She won the best teaching award at Prince Sultan University in 2008/2009 and was nominated for a best teaching award at the University of Essex in 2017/2018. She’s a member of the GEPN (Global Education Policy Network) and is actively involved in consultancy projects related to strategic direction and initiates with SOCPA and the Saudi Investment Bank (SAIB). Due to her extensive training, she is heavily involved in national (NCAAA) and international accreditation (AACSB) in which she is aiming to become the first Saudi AACSB mentor in the county . She is currently pursuing the national professional certificate from the Saudi Organization for Certified Public Accountants (SOCPA). She’s an Assistant Professor in Financial Accounting, with a research interest in voluntary disclosures relating to ESG, with an emphasis on gender.
